Default MS Word 2007

I have an old document from 2006. When I open it with Wordpad, it displays code, so I know that it still contains text. However, when I open it with MS Word, it shows nothing at all. Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried Open and Repair? From within Word, display the Open dialog box (Ctrl+O). Locate the document and select it. Click the arrow on the Open button, and choose Open and Repair.
