auto select paragraphs within a shared document
Good afternoon, completely new to the forum and likewise to word (aside from using it to write documents): I have no idea on scripts/macros, so i am not sure how this or if it can be done. Is there a way to have at a start of a document, a selection of tick boxes such as red/white/blue and then depending on what one you select it populates the paragraph explaining that colour in the document in said place. then say the next selection following on have a choice, of circle/square/triangle which follows on from colour and explains something else? over simplified i know but if anyone could maybe point me in the direction or help me i would be appreciative. Thanks |

You could use something like the attached document, which uses formfields and formula fields, not macros. To see the formula field workings, remove the 'filling in forms' protection and press Alt-F9 to examine the field coding. Note, too, that the 'filling in forms' protection only applies to the 2nd Section in the document, allowing you to type before and after it.
