Question Two column format without affecting neither the page numbers nor the header or footer

Two column format without affecting neither the page numbers nor the header or footer

I wanted to use the two column format for one page only but I do need to keep the same page numger sequence and the header and footer.

How can I do that?

Once I use the two column format then “section break – continuous” is added automatically which means that the sequence of page numbers will be affected and start from scratch!

is there a way to avoid affecting the page number sequence and the header and footer when adding a "two column format"?

the screenshots are attached

Thank you in advance for the help,

Regards

Jamal

If you are using Word, just type what you want straight down - one column. When you are done, highlight only that portion that you want in two (2) columns and to the "columns" tab and select two (2). Only that portion of the type you have highlighted will be changed into two columns.
Alternatively, you can create a text box for the two (2) column portion and insert it where you want it - creating it with two (2) columns. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the answer Louise.

sure i do know how to switch my one column format to two columns.

my issue is how to keep the same page number sequence, header and footer in the next pages (that follows the two column format) as i switch some portion of the document to two column format. i don't need the page numbers, header and footer of the next pages to be affected!

best

Jamal

Default I tried

Sorry that you are still having trouble. I tried several different ways and cannot get my Office Word to do what you describe. Usually, I type what I want for a "Title" then type the body of the document, spell check, etc.......Then I highlight the type and tell it to make two (2) columns. Then I go to the header/footer section and tell it to put in footer with page numbers. The page numbers run consecutively, 1, 2, 3, etc. For me it works every time. Hope it does for you, too.
