Hello - this is my first time here and I have what is prob. a very basic question - what is the name of the standard font used in Word docs where all the letters are in capitals but the first letter in each word is larger than the others?

Hi leveleki,

You can do that with any non-symbol font, by typing the words with the normal upper/lower case mix and formatting the font with the 'small caps' attribute.

Mnay thanks for that, Paul. At the risk of sounding like a moron, I am not quite sure how to do (where to go) to do what you suggest!??! If you have the time (and patience) could you spell it out for me, please??

Suppose you type “The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog” (note how each word is capitalized). Now select what you've just typed and click on the little arrow in the bottom right corner of the Font panel and check the ‘small caps’ option. Your text will now be converted to “THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG”. That’s all there is to it. If you set the ‘small caps’ option at the outset, everything you type will be formatted that way until you uncheck it.
