Default Change size of ruler in MS word 2011 for mac

Im typing a paper for school and the ruler shows the usual 1-7 across the top bot it does not go all the way across the screen. Its not a huge issue but I'm trying to type a 14 page research paper and I don't want to have to type in such a small area. I can zoom in and then the ruler extends the whole page but the font is obviously to large. Is there any other way to extend size of ruler to go across entire page and not have to zoom in? Thanks in advance for your help

A little patience wouldn't go astray. After all, you posted on a weekend and this forum, like almost all forums, relies on the goodwill of volunteers. As for the # views, that could be nothing more than page accesses by web-bots, not people.

What 'View' do you have Word set to? Word rulers are always configured to show only to the page boundaries. A ruler apparently anchored on the left of the screen is symptomatic of 'Draft' view. In 'Print layout' view, the ruler should be centred if only a single page width is displayed. The only view in which the ruler always spans the screen width is 'Web Layout' - because web pages work with screen widths and not paper widths.

Default Word View Formatting

Follow this link:

http://mac2.microsoft.com/help/offic...3-c82f4914d7b1

Click:
Change other default settings in the Normal template

Find the file, go to view, change to print layout, save.

Then you can zoom (bottom right of screen) for preference.

That should do it!
