Default Dupicating a date automatically

I have a boilerplate document that I use all of the time and the only thing that changes is the date and a few other words. The date shows up in several places in the document so I was wondering if there is a way to set up Word so that I could type in a new date at the top and then all of the other occurrences of that date would change too. I know I could use Search and Replace but that is another step. I was hoping to automate this.

Thanks,
Houston
