Default Issues with Word 2007: making "--" into "—"

Hello,

I had Microsoft Word 2007 on my computer then had to uninstall and reinstall it because of a computer problem. Now it won't change "--" into " —" like it used to. When I used to do it all I had to add was the "--" and then enter down for it to convert into the full dash. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Thanks
kg28

Click the Office button and then click Word Options. In the Proofing category, click the AutoCorrect Options button. On the AutoFormat As You Type tab, select "Hyphens (--) with dash (—)." Click OK twice.
