Default page with tranparent shape cannot print properly

Hi forum!

I have a page with some texture as a background. And I have put on this texture autoshape with 100% transprarency. On that autoshape I have put field with text - please take a look at attached document how beautifull it looks.

But when I print that page I see no transparency. Instead of it I see ugly grey shape with gradient - see attached PDF file (on real printer it looks more dark).

Please tell me what I have done wrong? Or is it just a bug in MS Word?

Hi Betinka,

AFAIK, what's shown in the PDF is a limitation of converting (semi) transparent shapes to PDF in Word. If your shape was indeed 100% transparent, it wouldn't be visible at all. You might get better results by copying the background shape, cropping the copy's to the same size as your existing autoshape and, instead of making the cropped shape transparent, make it sufficiently darker to achieve the desired effect (eg change the brightness to 40%). See attached.
