To force a "Page Width" zoom on all documents, you'll need a couple of auto macros in the Normal template:

ActiveWindow.View.Type = 3
ActiveWindow.View.Zoom.PageFit = wdPageFitBestFit
End Sub
 
Sub AutoNew()
ActiveWindow.View.Type = 3
ActiveWindow.View.Zoom.PageFit = wdPageFitBestFit
