Link word check box to access check box
Afternoon Users, Is there any way to link a word to access? I'm trying to click on a check box in word and it populates in an access check box. Can this be done? Thanks in advance. |

Hi Mrkeith,
Yes, that can be done, but it requires vba code attached to the checkbox in Word that starts Access, opens the database file, selects the required record or whatever, then updates the Access checkbox. This requires considerable code just for error-checking (eg is Access already running, is the database already open), quite apart from the code that actually does the work.

Thanks for answering back. I'm not comfortable with VBA. I'm not a coder. But yes access is running. Is there anything else you could help me with to get this going?

Hi Mrkeith,
The only thing I can add is that it's far easier to update a Word document from Access than to update a field in a particular Access record from Word.
