Default Background transparency

Hi,
I'm really not a word advanced user and only starting to discover the possibilities ... which seem to be pretty impressive.... but I am encountering some issues I just cannot understand and I already spent too much time trying to sort them out so I would really appreciate some help .... I am attaching a document so you can get the idea :

In the document you will see that the right side has 2 stripes , first page has a blue and black stripes and other pages have a pinky and grey stripe ...
First thing that is driving me me mad is I just can't find out how to get rid of the first page .... or change the colors of those stripes .

Second thing that is driving me mad is the Pinky / grey stripes should be red and black ... and I can't find out how to change them ...

I did get close at some point but whatever I do it always goes back to the same color as if some transparency was applied .... to be honest I have no idea ... anyone kind enough to explain what the trick is ?
Many thanks in advance

Hi ptityop,

You can delete the first page by clicking on the image, then moving the cursor to any edge and clicking again when the cursor shape turns to cross-hairs. Then press Delete. you'll then see a Section break and a page break, with an intervening paragraph break. Select all of those together and press Delete. Your second page should now become the first page.

Now go to Page Layout > Page Setup > Layout and uncheck the 'different first page' option. Your grey/pink border will now appear on the first page. As for the grey/pink border's colour, it's actually black/red, but Word is configured to show that on-screen with a washed-out appearance. It'll still print correctly, however.
