I have a report at work I am working on and I did not originally set it up so I'm guessing the person who did, did not do something correctly. I have a 6-chapter document and each Chapter title has been assigned to Heading 1 and has numbers assigned to it. So it goes:
1.0 Introduction 2.0 Travel 3.0 Transportation etc. Now when I go to put in page numbers in the footer and I tell it to include chapter numbers also (i.e. 1-1 for chapter 1, 2-1 for chapter 2, page 2, etc.) it is starting off on Chapter 4, so the first page number is 4-1. This is the very first page in the document after the table of contents and introduction page. I made sure that my Heading 1 styles should start at 1, and same with my page numbers that it starts at 1. So why does it think that it is starting on Chapter 4? What am I missing? |
