Refering figure number too text
Hi.
I don't know if you can do this i ms word, I have seached a little bit but didīnt find anything. Problem Let's say I have a figure with the figure number 2-1. I have a text that is refering too the figure, for example "as illustrated in figure 2-1". If I later put in another figure before figure 2-1 the figure number in the caption changes automatically. My question is if you can do so that the number in the text also changes automatically at the same time without disturbing the numbering of other figures? |

Use the Cross-reference dialog box to cross-reference the figure number: On the References tab, click Cross-reference. For "Reference type," select "Figure," make your choice in the "Insert reference to" box and then click the Insert button.
