Default EMAIL address change

My default email address when I want to send a document from msword is Outlook Express. How can I change that sending address to my gmail account address?

Thanks.

Default Outlook Profiles

You need to go into the Control Panel >> Mail >> Show Profiles and then select the profile you wish to use at the bottom of the dialogue box or create a new profile with you new email settings.

Thanks, I thought that would be a simple solution until I opened my control panel and did not find any "mail" icon to work with. I am using Windows XP with IE as the browser. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Are you using Gmail notifier? A must-have tool for Gmail users, it will configure it for you.

Default GMail Helper

That would be good if it worked for me. I did install it, but it works only with a secondary gmail address I have for the basic version of Gmail. However, I subscribe to an advanced version of Gmail which gives me a domain name as part of my email address (and in which Gmail in not even mentioned) and this is where I get practically all my mail and send all of my mail.
So, I am back to the question of how to change the default mail client used by MSword to my domain name Gmail.
Thanks for responding. I appreciate your interest.

Cheers,

Warren Cassell

Well, I think we are getting closer, but no cigar yet. First, I installed Firefox which I had trouble installing before, but once I started IE with no add ons, I was able to happily install FF.
So, now I have a Google Apps problem. When trying to cut and paste per your suggestion, I first got an error message (I think it was 403), but then somehow my Google mail address was installed as the default. I really don't use this address and would like to get rid of it. I would like to use my Google Apps address, which as you know, contains a domain name. I tried subbing that name at the appropriate place when pasting and it didn't work. Is there some way my apps mail and gmail are getting FF confused? Or, what am I doing wrong! Any help will be appreciated and thanks very much.

Have you checked the mail clients in Firefox? Go to "Tools | Options | Application", then search 'mailto'.

If you did everything correctly, you should be able to see two Gmail options. Try them one by one.

If not, please follow the Gmail official guide again very carefully, it's pretty straightforward, nothing confusing.
