Default Tiny square but no picture pasted

Even after using "Repair" from the disk and completely reinstalling the program, I cannot get Word 2010 to accept a pasted Screen Print. All I get is a tiny square and a flashing curser. I have read forums where there is difficulty in using Word 2010's copy and paste functions from the internet but not from one's own computer. Any ideas?

hi Seafarer,

Try the alternative approaches suggested here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925175
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...artingWord.htm and
http://windowssecrets.com/forums/sho...hp/32641/page2

for various series of troubleshooting steps that will help you track down (and hopefully solve) the problem.

Thanks for the attempt but (a) first link downloads a program called Microsoft Guided Help that installs correctly then disappears. Clicking on the .exe file show a rapidly passing menu bar but nothing further happens nor do any instructions appear as to what I am supposed to look for or do with the program.
(b) second link is a "404" Page not found.
(c) Third link gives the error message "Server refuses the connection.
Any more suggestions?

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi Seafarer,

The first link has more than just the "Microsoft Guided Help that installs correctly then disappears".

The second & third links work correctly for me.
