Default Trouble on Using List number style in Master Document

Hello everybody

I've 2 subdocuments which some paragraphs of each subdocument using List number style. And the list number is separated running. for example

Subdocument A
Paragraph 1
  1. subparagraph 1
  2. subparagraph 2
  3. subparagraph 3
Paragraph 2
  1. subparagraph 1
  2. subparagraph 2
  3. subparagraph 3
Subdocument B
Paragraph 1
  1. subparagraph 1
  2. subparagraph 2
  3. subparagraph 3
Paragraph 2
  1. subparagraph 1
  2. subparagraph 2
  3. subparagraph 3
When I combine those subdocuments using Master document. I've found that the number was running continuously. Like this.
Paragraph 1 of Subdocument A
1. subparagraph 1
2. subparagraph 2
3. subparagraph 3
Paragraph 2 of Subdocument A
4. subparagraph 1
5. subparagraph 2
6. subparagraph 3
Paragraph 1 of Subdocument B
7. subparagraph 1
8. subparagraph 2
9. subparagraph 3
Paragraph 2 of Subdocument B
10. subparagraph 1
11. subparagraph 2
12. subparagraph 3
But my requirement is not continuously. Like this
Paragraph 1 of Subdocument A
1. subparagraph 1
2. subparagraph 2
3. subparagraph 3

Paragraph 2 of Subdocument A
1. subparagraph 1
2. subparagraph 2
3. subparagraph 3
Paragraph 1 of Subdocument B
1. subparagraph 1
2. subparagraph 2
3. subparagraph 3
Paragraph 2 of Subdocument B
1. subparagraph 1
2. subparagraph 2
3. subparagraph 3
I've to restart number manually in master document . Then save file and close it.

When I reopen the master document , found that the list number still continuous from the previous.

This problem was come to my head that why the list number is still continous?

Please explain that how can I disable the continuous number in master document or solve my problem that match my requirement like the blued-paragraph?

Thanks for your help.

Hi nattasiray,

You can achieve the desired result by using the next level for the list numbering, set to re-start after a paragraph at the previous list level, and have that previous list level un-numbered. Then, whenever you want the numbering to re-start, simply insert a paragraph at the previous level.
