Default Potentially lost university report

Hi guys,

I have been working on a report for university for my final year. One of my classmates used 'save as' and as the day progressed we were just using ctrl + s. However when trying to reopen it was saved as a text document and only giving us 7-8 words in a list. I sent the files to myself on facebook to try and recover it and it has the extension .dic.

Any know whats going on, and if there is any way to recover?

Thanks so much,
Alan

Default Are you sure you are looking...

Are you sure you are looking at the correct file? *.dic files are custom dictionaries in Word.

Hi Alan,

If you've been saving the file, it will be wherever it was saved to. Word's 'recent file' list should have it - simply clicking on that should re-open the file. If you want to see where the file was saved to, click on 'File|Save As'. The dialogue box will show the path at the top.
