Default Visual Basic Editor changes from 2003 to 2007

We recently converted to Office 2007 from Office 2003.

In Word 2003, I would do some editing with the Visual basic editor for a custom .dot file macro that we use.

Anyways, I would open the .dot file in question and then open the editor from the VB toolbar and then doubleclick NewMacros. I would then perform my edits.

Also, this macro has a menu of the custom letters and templates that uses could select from. I also had to edit this by going into View, Toolbars, Customize, and clicking the Command tab I would select Macros where I could edit the menu.

Now that we are on Word 2007, I cannot figure out how to perform these functions anymore. Total revamp and I am hopelessly lost.

Anybody have some advice for me?

After you have opened the *.dot file with the macros, press Alt+F11 to display the Visual Basic Editor. You can then view and edit the macros the way you did in earlier versions of Word.

Whether the macros work properly in Word 2007 is difficult to tell. Custom toolbars should display on the Add-Ins tab, though.

I've found how to open the Visual Basic screen but I don't see where New Macros are listed. It's just a big blank screen.

Use the View tab to display the missing parts of the user interface. For example, click View | Project Explorer to see the "tree" of open documents and their code modules.
