Content Controls Form Programming
I'm developing a MS Word Template using Visual Studio 2008. I"m planing on having customized C# code associated with the form for form validation. The project creates a dll along with the dotx file and others. When I'm ready to distribute the docx file using the template, will that dll have to be distributed as well? |

Hi
I am not sure why you are using Visual Studio Code for validation when you can do the same in Word with VBA. You then don't have the issue of havning to distribute the dll. Hope this helps. If not then post a sample with what validation you need and I will see if I can hep you further. Good luck. Tony(OTPM) |

For example, this form could very well be used on another network. So if I understand it ( the process I'm pursuing) correctly, the person using the Word form, would need that dll in their path someplace?? If that's the case, that completely blows. |

My validation is really pretty basic. All I want to do is have required input for some textboxes, as well as for one textbox ensure the format is correct. For example, there's textbox for phone number. I'd want to ensure the user inputs 0-9 digits and the "-" character only.

Hi
You would need to ensure that your distribution list also receive the dll and know how to install it. I would strongly recommend that you build the form with VBA as you can store the VBA with the form to make it easier to distribute. Good luck. Tony(OTPM) |
