Hello,
I am hoping someone can assist. I have an appraisal type Word document that currently is set up for manual calculuations of adjustments. For example, in the attached template, the subject property is 1,600 square feet and Comparable #1 is 1,200 square feet. Using $50 per square foot, the adjustment is +$20,000. I am looking for the ability to 1) have that caclulated automatically, and 2) which is likely more complicated, have the ability to change the $50 figure to whatever is appopriate. I hope I am explaining that properly. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be grateful. Thank you. |

I had a look at your form and it looks like there are a lot of fields that would need calculations. From the looks of it, I would say, yes it could be done but it would be some complicated that it would be a nightmare.
The obvious solution would be to take this into Microsoft Excel where the calculations and maintenance would be massively simplified. Is there a reason you want this as a Word-based tool?

Thank you for the response. The form was originally created in Word by someone who is no longer with our company, so I'm not sure how we would go about transferring it to Excel.
I understand this is a complicated request and would pay to have it done. If interested, please let me know. Thanks again for the response. |

I can help you out with a complete solution if you wanted to send me a private message with your contact information.
I can also help you here getting you started if you were up to learning how to do it yourself. Questions I have are: Is there more than just that form in the document? If it is only that form then I would recommend changing to Excel. Do you do the data entry direct into the form or is there a mail merge/import function that populates large chunks of the data? If it stays in Word, I would likely recommend changing to Content Controls for the data values entry and then use macros to do the calculations.
