Thanks Vivka! You're quite right about the absence of Chr(13). The error was a run-time error, but I cannot specify, because now the code works perfectly without any error. À la prochaine!

The absence of anything is the reason for the error. If a group of things has only one item then you encounter an error if you are asked to go to the item before the first item.

I don't understand the point of the effort after the code provided in #22 of this thread. What are you trying to achieve that that macro didn't do?

The code you posted in #27 seeks to remove one of the spaces at the end of a paragraph but would need to be run multiple times if there was more than one space. And you would still need to avoid the error when the paragraph is empty.

Many thanks, Guessed! The matter is not quite clear to me, since the error appeared even if all the paragraph marks were preceded by a single space. However, since the error has occurred again (!?), I am now using your code in #27, which works perfectly even if all the paragraph marks are preceded by a single space. The mystery remains. Thanks a lot!
