Default VBA to update ppt images from word

Hello,

I have monthly presentations due in PowerPoint that are regularly 90 pages long. The output has been pretty much standardized and a majority of the work requires updating PowerPoint slides with new images from an output rtf file (exported from SAS). Is there a way to create a macro that would automatically update ppt slide images from multiple rtf files? For example:
PPT Slide 10, Image 1 comes from RTF File 1, Image 3
PPT Slide 11, Image 1 comes from RTF File 1, Image 4

PPT Slide 14, Image 1 comes from RTF File 3, Image 1

Our file structure keeps the same file name, but the folder name is updated (e.g. Monthly Trending/2023-04/Output/

If rtf doesn't have this option, resaving the file from rtf to word is a small inconvenience. I have not had any luck finding such an option on other message boards or general internet searches.

Thanks,
Wes

Conceptually it is certainly possible to do. Figuring out a method of teaming graphics to source info is going to be the trick.

I would set up the Powerpoint file so that graphics to be updated contain their own metadata that allows you to source the image. For instance, if you select a graphic in Powerpoint and go to Format Picture you can put text into the Alt Text and Description fields. I would use these fields to then tell the macro where to source the replacement graphic.

Word document structure and layout will be important - graphics in Word can be floating or inline so 'Image 3' could be interpreted in two different numbered collections.
