Convert static superscript footnotes to dynamic footnotes
I've been trying to use this macro from Greg Maxey to convert a few hundred "dumb" footnotes (superscript number at end of sentence, superscript citation at end of page) to dynamic footnotes.
To do so, I added an end bracket to each superscripted number and ran the macro with input "1" to indicate these are footnotes, "#]" to identify the notes in the notes text, and "#]" to identify the text string that flags each note reference. This works for the first page, but I've run into a number of problems on subsequent pages. Typically, the first page's footnotes convert correctly, but as the macro continues to run, it deletes all of the content from all following pages. I've also tried this solution, but that requires me to manually highlight each set of footnotes one page at a time (which would require hundreds of manual iterations). I've attached a sample of how my document is formatted. Sample 2.docx |

With the code in https://www.msofficeforums.com/110511-post2.html, you could move all the 'footnotes' to the end of the document (in order), then select them all and run the macro once...
