Search Word for specific strings and replace with hyperlinks from a list
Hi All!
I have a word document that contains about 1200 citations that need to be hyperlinked to the PDF they cite (there are about 120 PDFs total). I've extracted all of the unique citations (about 1000) into column A of a spreadsheet, as well as the corresponding filenames and and file paths in columns B and C.
I currently have an extension for Word (Kutools) that allows me to search for a text string and replace it with a file hyperlink, but you can only enter one string at a time and have to manually look up the file location (this method would take days). If possible, I would like a script that can search the Word document for each of the citation strings in Column A, and replace them with a relative hyperlink. Is something like this possible?
