Default Newbie needing help

I am looking at creating a macro/VBA to automate updating data in Excel. Here is the scenario:

Asset reassignment
- A list of return assets by different models
- A list of engineers that need different asset of model

- The macro to assign engineer with the next available asset

What does this request have to do with Word?

Maybe post a sample Excel workbook with your request to the Excel Programming forum. Include how you envisage the macro to be used - it is not apparent how the macro should interact with the user.
