I likewise recommend you use a field from Paul's tutorial. While he told you to be sure to read the introductory material, that cannot be stressed enough.
You will then have a field. Like many fields, it will not automatically update when the document is opened. It would be enough to use Ctrl+A followed by F9. If that is inconvenient, you could use a macro to update just that field when the document is opened. |
