Macro to delete tabs in Word

I have tried to run this code just on its own (and not inserted into my intended macro) in my document but it just crashes my PC. I am thinking it may have something to do with where definitions are split into sub paras (a), (b) etc. because I have run it on a document without any sub paras and it works. Can anyone help solve this problem at all?
