Default Error message ["Project is unviewable"] when I try to exit Word; despite my running Debug, Compile [

When I try to exit Word, a Word Error message window ["Project is unviewable"] appears, with an OK button, which does nothing at all. The only way I have found to exit the loop is by using taskkill on Word.

Also, despite my running Debug, Compile [template Mac05.dotm], and saving Mac05.dotm before exiting, when I start Word, Mac05 shows as not having been compiled.

After I reopen Word and compile Mac05 again, the macros in the other templates in my startup group worked just fine. But, after I exit Word, the macros in another template in my startup group, Mac02.dotm, do not work until I open Mac05.dotm again and compile the VBA. Note: I do not get any error messages when I run Debug, compile in Mac05.dotm.

Questions:
1. What steps should I take to address the problem?
2. Can you refer me to any reference pages or tutorials to learn more about what are the likely causes of the problem.

3. I don't think you you have the time to actually look at my templates from the startup group; but if you would like me to upload them, I would be pleased to do so.

Thank you for any help you can give me. Your time and the help you folks give us's is very very much appreciated.

Marc

Unless you can tell us exactly what error messages you receive when using Mac05.dotm, and, ideally, what code line it fails on, plus supplying the relevant code, all we'd be doing is playing a guessing game.

It sounds like the problem template is loaded as an addin while you are trying to make these fixes. You need to make sure it is fully working BEFORE you load it as an addin.

So remove it from the Startup folder and restart Word. Then open it to resolve the code issues and compile it.

Are you saying that Mac02 relies on code in Mac05 or that an error in Mac05 compiling prevents the other template from being able to run code?
