Question Using a Specific JPG File as an Icon for Word Macro on the Toolbar?

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding customizing the icon for a Word macro on the toolbar. Can a specific JPG file be used as the icon for a Word macro on the toolbar? I've been exploring ways to personalize the icons for my macros, and using a custom JPG image would be a great way to do it.

I've looked through the available options within Word's macro settings and toolbar customization, but I need help finding a direct way to achieve this. Word provides a set of default icons, but I would love to use my JPG image instead.

Has anyone come across a method or workaround to accomplish this? Perhaps there's a script or VBA code that can be used to assign a custom JPG file as the icon for a Word macro on the toolbar? I would appreciate any insights or suggestions you may have.

Thank you in advance for your help!

A JPG is very poor choice for an icon image. Ribbon icons need to be resizable and jpgs look awful when they are resized. The best choice is to use an actual icon (.ico), failing that a PNG with a transparent background 64 pixels square.

Thank you for your reply.

It's too complicated, like Rocket Science. And it is hard to follow without steps. The version of the Microsoft Word used is not up-to-date.

Thank you. I didn't realize that using a .jpg format would be problematic for your use case. I'm glad you brought it up so I can avoid using that format in the future.
