Default Print to Multiple Printer Trays...and Printers

I've read several articles on how to print page 1 to one tray and other pages to different tray. This involves selecting printer beforehand or use default printer then tweaking page setup options. But what if you need to select a different printer at runtime? The preselected page setup in my document template may not work properly. Maybe if both printers are same model or at least brand? Is there maybe a VBA solution to force the printer codes into the document? Any help is appreciated.

Maybe - Associate a Word document with a particular printer will help?

Is it true that if 2 printers are the same brand and model then the document which is setup for one of them (with regard to which pages come from which trays), will work for the other one also, in case the user redirects the print job to the other printer?

Thanks...

Issue solved. Turns out the printer tray codes will work on another printer, at least same brand of printer.
