Convert/link superscript numbers to footnotes

I scanned a couple of thousand pages for my mentor. After running OCR and applying corrections, I have the text saved in .docx. The footnotes appear as superscript numbers (neatly and consistently; no brackets, periods, etc.). However, these footnotes are not properly linked in Microsoft Word. As a result, when I attempt to import to ePub software, it doesn’t recognize it as a footnote/endnote.



I would be most grateful if anyone can suggest a macro to convert or link all superscript numbers to footnotes/endnotes.
