Default User forms are not saving in vba ms word

When creating user forms in via ms word the form will not save when I close the document, when using via ms excel the user forms are save. What is stopping the forms from being save?

Are you saving the document as macro enabled?
Is the userform actually in the document and not in the normal template?

You haven't answered the question! When you save the document, what file format are you saving it in? Documents saved in the docx format cannot contain macros (or userforms); only Documents saved in the doc or docm formats can. It's the same with Excel (i.e. Workbooks saved in the xlsx format cannot contain macros (or userforms)).
