Macro for printing 2 copies each on NCR paper for many different word docs
Hi, I need to print about 200 different word documents every month on 2-sheet NCR paper (customer signs one, we keep one). Right now, I have to open each document, hit PRINT, hit 2 COPIES, and so on. Is there a way to automate the printing with a macro that prints ALL selected documents (200+) so that 2 copies print back to back for each? Thank you!

As each print is treated as a separate task - http://www.gmayor.com/Batch_Print.htm should do the job. You can set the number of copies of each and the order the documents are printed.

I thought the whole point of using NCR paper would be to print once only - the coating takes care of the copy. Naturally, you'd need an impact printer for this; otherwise you're wasting money using NCR paper.

That was my first thought, but I assumed the user knew what was required and was just wanting to automate a process done individually. Either way my suggestion should do the job.

Thank you very much, Graham. It worked somewhat, however, when it got to about the 20th document, it said that that particular document does not exist. Today, I tried to batch print again using the already installed add-in, and none of my Word (.doc) documents showed up in their respective folders. It simply said the folders were empty (this was from any folder on my database containing Word docs). Do you know what the problem might be?

That's alarming, however, probably due to a Windows update, the method of recording and storing the folder data for use has resulted in an incomplete path being stored. This is now fixed, and the updated version I have just uploaded to my web site appears to address the issue. Make sure that you click the reset button after installing and before attempting to use the add-in. If you have any more problems contact me via my web site.

Hi Graham,
I filled out the contact form via your website awhile back. I tried to save the 3.1 version in my Word startup folder however, it reverts back to the older version. Word will not allow me to delete the old version, and it inactivates the 3.1 version in the Options--Add Ins. When I go to Advanced--File Location--Startup--Modify, no 3.1 Word Batch Print file shows up. When I go to batch print in Word, it says it is the 3.1 version, however, none of my Word docs show up (from any folder). If you have any further suggestions, I would most appreciate it. It is important for me to be able to have this function. Thank you, again! |

You cannot delete the template if Word is running as it is loaded in Word. Close Word and try again.
I have not had any contact forms recently that I have not responded to?

This is the error message I get when trying to run the macros vers 3.1:Object variable or With Block variable not set (Error 91). Again, none of the word documents are available (folders are there, but no Word docs inside).

Can you reboot your PC, restart Word, click the add-in's reset button on the add-ins tab and then if you are still having problems, contact me via my web site.
