Word Macros
I have an interesting problem.
My boss would like to have a dynamic filename and path associated with certain documents that are stored on a public server. Every time the filename or location of the file has changed, the filename and path in the header will change also. I have found the code for the macro to do this here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=832897 There might be different people moving these documents around. It seems when I enable this macro, it works from my Word application, but not if someone else moves or renames the Word file. Is there a way to enable this feature so no matter who is changing the filename or moving the document, the filename and path will change? |

Is the code embedded in the document itself or does it reside in the attached template or does it reside in your own Normal.dot?
If the macro is not in the document then do the other users have access to the same template filepath? If the other users have disabled macros (this is on by default) then your macro won't run unless the document (or template) which houses the macro is stored in a 'trusted location'. As you can see, using a macro is not pure and simple when lots of people are going to be using the file. |

Macros and Trusted Source
How do you ensure the document housing the macros is saved as a trusted source?
I have a lot of documents with the same macros. The documents are saved on a server accessed by different users. Each time the documents are accessed, the disable/enable macros security warning message appears. How can I saved the documents on the server as a trusted source? |
