Template with option to auto change varying content
Hi All,
I hoping someone may be able to assist. I have a number of documents that will be the same for various projects, with the exception of content that will vary only when referencing the project name. Is it possible to select the project name and have all the variable components of the document change accordingly? I'm hoping to be able to achieve one document that can easily be used to produce multiple documents for multiple projects. Any suggestions? |

Yes, that's quite possible. In a document using formfields and forms protection, you could input the project name into a text formfield and have that text replicate automatically throughout the document via cross-references. Similarly, if there are variables that are amenable to selection from a dropdown, you could input the variables into a dropdown formfield and, when the selection is made, have the dependent content inserted/varied automatically throughout the document via formula fields.
No macros required.

I think you will find he just did
Another approach is to use a VBA userform to update bookmarks or document variables - see http://www.gmayor.com/Userform.htm You could use further variables of bookmarks for the duplicated information, or use cross reference fields to duplicate it.
