The VBE Help files ordinarily have black text on a white background, except for hyperlinked keywords and some headings, whilst code blocks have black text on a pale blue background. There are online versions of the content at MSDN but I doubt you'd find the colouring any better. You may be able to get something more to your liking by changing the Windows colour scheme, but doing that will have system-wide effects that may adversely impact the colouring of other application windows.
As for "a web site explains which macro does which function", there is no such thing. Macros employ a variety of objects, properties, methodsand variables and it is the way these are used together as procedures that determine what a macro does. Often times, there are numerous ways of doing the same thing and some approaches are much more efficient than others. Programming styles and familiarity with the VBA object model also play a role in determining how a given macro is put together - even the VBA version can make a difference.
