Acronym lister and definition checker for Microsoft Word

Hi everyone,


I’m new to this forum and macros in general and have seen some people requesting for macros. I have tried modifying several that are close to fitting my purpose, but can’t quite get there. I apologize if this has already been asked, but I’m hoping someone can help me with the following:

• I need a macro to search my document for all acronyms of 2 capital letters or longer which may or may not contain a plural lowercase “s” at the end
• Check each found acronym for a subsequent definition which would follow the acronym in parentheses
• List all acronyms in a separate document in order of appearance, followed by their page number, and then their definition in parentheses; if no definition is found, “UNDEFINED” is displayed.
• If any definition is spelled again out after the acronym is first defined, when instead the acronym should be used, the definition term should be reported and on what page number this occurred.

I know this is a big request, but any help is much appreciated, or simply some direction to resources to teach me how to do this.
