When I create a new macro in Word 2013, it overwrites my previously saved macros.
In medical claims appeals, we use macros to insert operating room notes to explain what the surgeon did. The language is the same each time, according to the specific surgery. I "record macro", name it, assign it to a button, store it in All Documents (Normal.dotm), paste the text into the document and then stop recording. I test it and it's fine. When I check my previously recorded macros, they now each have the latest paragraphs (incorrect surgery note) in place of what was previously recorded. Any suggestions? I've researched this on the internet with no solution. |

Recording a macro won't change the content of any other macros. The only way your scenario could occur is if the newly-recorded macro was given the same name as a previous one. In that case, the previous one would be replaced.

They have totally different names, i.e., Gallbladder, Hernia, Appendectomy, etc.

If all you're recording is a paste action, a recorded macro will merely replicate the pasting of whatever might be in the clipboard when the paste occurs - not what was in the clipboard when the macro was recorded. What is the code generated by the macro recorder for, say, Hernia?
