macro to find a character and insert space so autocorrect will expand
I posted this also in mail merge but I'm now thinking maybe a macro could perform what I need.
I have a document with names in it like this: John Smith@ I've tried to create a macro to find @ and replace with a space so autocorrect will expand to John Smith, MD. It doesn't work because it just adds the space and autocorrect doesn't expand. Any way to make this work? |

Where does the @ come from? In any event, since you have the @, why not use Find/Replace to change it to the credentials? Storing all these details as autocorrect entries is not to be recommended and, in any event, having VBA (or Find/Replace)insert a space after them won't trigger the autocorrect.

Mail merge places the @ after the name so I can easily maneuver to it with a find macro to add the space and expand.

Unless the @ is in the data source the mailmerge doesn't add it to the output. If it's a separate field, then it can be omitted from the mailmerge.
