Default Help creating template to automate changing dates

I'm needing help creating a template that will change the dates in calendars on a word document. See the attached example "word_template.zip." But I need the layout to be like the attached document "CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT CALENDAR.docx." I'm not very experienced with creating these kinds of templates so I'm hoping some one here can help guide me. Please let me know where to begin.

Thanks,
Derrick

Hi,

I have put dates Aug 13 - May 14 (not sure that is correct). You then have to manually select the dates in the table to apply shading colour for each program.

Kind regards
Janine

Janine,

Thank you for you response. I was hoping to create a new template that would do what the attached "word_template.zip" would do. When you open it it ask to input the current date and then it fixes the calendars to match. I'm trying to figure out how to add this to corp. engagement calendar.

Thanks again,
Derrick

Default Corporate Calendar

Hi there, that's a tall order.

The calender is not dynamic after it is created. It is based on DOCVARIABLES to enter each month's days. The progam start/end dates is just a Content Control Date Picker (manually select the date from the dropdown calendar) - once the calendar has been created it is static - you would still have to apply shading to the program dates manually it is not a dynamic template - it just builds the calendar.

You would have to change the .dot - do use Word 2003 or a more recent version?

I will have another look when I have a moment.

Kind regards
Janine

Thanks Janine,

That sounds like what I want. The manually shading is fine. I basically just want to create a template that makes those calendars in that layout. I don't expect anyone to do the work for me. But just looking for some helpful links or information so I can learn this on my own.

Default Calendar Template

Hi Derricks

Just rename files (delete .zip extension).

I've created a 10 month calendar. The document xxxNotes.dotm has a few notes and some screenshots. The other document is a clean template. I have created one calendar build only for 10 months - you can change months and years but not 12 Months Start Sunday because that's the Quick Parts Table I've used in Event Planner Category attached to your template. I have not created the other 3 options (there are 4 quick part tables altogether) in original template:

12 Months Start Monday
12 Months Start Sunday
6 Months Start Monday
6 Months Start Sunday

I haven't altered macro just worked with it.

If you require the other tables you will have to build them first from the original template - it is quite a PITA. Layer 1 quick table building block actually goes on top of the table layout layer.

To use the template do File New (creates a new document) and make your edits - obviously edit your .dotm template first to get your template looking as you wish.

Feel free to ask anymore questions - hopefully you will get the gist of how the template macro works. It inserts one of the 4 quick part tables into the template when you request the specific options in the userform. You only have 1 table so you cannot alter your selection as per the screenshot. You can select new years and start month. Your calendar is 10 months.

Kind regards
