Highlight all underlined words
I have a word template file that uses hotkeys to quickly format through various articles that are contained within the file.
I want to give the user a capability which allows them to choose between having an "unhighlighted" version of the file and a "highlighted" version. In the "highlighted" version, it would find all words of a particular format (e.g. Arial, 11, underline) and change the background color of words in that format--I do not care about whether the function uses the font-highlight or paragraph-shading properties to "highlight" the file. I have tried doing multiple things in the file. I have tried: 1) Recording a macro that selects all text formatted a specific way, and then use the font-highlight function, and then ending the macro; and 2) Recording a macro that selects all text formatted a specific way, and then using the paragraph-shading function to highlight the selected text, and then ending the macro. Results: 1) It does not go through the entire document, or it just doesn't work 2) It will highlight all of the text in a specific line, even if it is not underlined. Any pointers? Thanks Zack |

Try, with or without a macro, using the Replace function. You can replace one formatting with another or add formatting to a particular found set of text.
