You can do this without a macro, using a wildcard Find/replace, where: Find = (DP )([!^13]{1,})([^13]VD*VX[!^13]{1,}[^13])(DP )([!^13]{1,}[^13]) Replace = \1\2\3DB \2,\5\4\5
