Default Help with expanding/collapsing lists of check boxes

First off I am a complete newb. Trying to teach myself but am running into issues. I've attached a sample of something I'm working on. The project is a interactive document/tool that fellow nurses can use to classify patients according to their accuity. The idea is to have a series of check boxes next to diagnoses. If a nurse checks a box next to a diagnosis then there would be a secondary list of check boxes expanding downward. If all the check boxes are check that are necessary to fulfull the overall requirement to meet ICC status then it should generate an outcome "X" or in my case it would Say "Patient meets ICC status. Have MD place ICC order."

Thanks for any help

Hi Craig,

It appears your document is using ActiveX checkboxes. One thing you need to know about them is that they can't be hidden, so you'd need to use vba to add/delete the additional checkbox controls as required.

Since vba would be required whichever way you go, a better choice would be a userform, on which you can hide and/or disable various options. They can also have multiple 'pages', which may suit your needs.

On the whole, though, if you need to store this information, and possibly retrieve it at a later date, the best approach might be to develope a database with which to maintain it.
