I have many tables like this:
![]() and repeatedly need to swiftly add strip 1 cells 5, 6 etc.: ![]() What's the swiftest command sequence? Best I've found creates: ![]() requiring I remerge strip 1's cols 2-5 - but individually, given the lack of a Merge Vertically command. |

Real shame Insert Rows Below fails to respect merge:

Both merged cells and nested tables make things much more complex. You have discovered one of the limits of Word.
