I am trying to copy a large table to a non-Microsoft application (Simple Syllabus). When I do that, it loses the right-hand border and writes outside of the cell. Is there a setting to let me copy the whole table and keep all the formatting and appearance exactly as it is? Thanks.

Your description suggests the problem is with Simple Syllabus, rather than Word. If you copy a table from Word into Outlook or Gmail, for example, the entire table is reproduced there. Formatting might change a bit, due to the way the other apps work, but fonts, alignments, borders, shading, etc, are all faithfully reproduced.
