merge formatted table

Hi!
I want to merge the three tables into one, I tried deleting the paragraph mark between them or I tried using Alt+Shift+ up/down arrow but no change. I guess there is a problem with the header row so I unchecked it but it didn't help . .

Your 1st & 3rd tables are formatted with the Grid Table 3 Accent 1 Style. Your 2nd table has the Grid Table 3 Accent 11 Style applied. Apply the Grid Table 3 Accent 1 Style to your 2nd table and the merging will succeed.

I don't understand where Grid Table 3 Accent 11 Style came from I had only Grid Table 3 Accent 1 Style.


So I have two tables, I want to copy one line from table 1 to table 2 and I get → table 3
I uploaded all the tables in separate documents. I used copy/paste of one row from table 1 into table 2, all tables are Grid Table 3 Accent 1 Style. But unfortunately I get two table in document 3 although both are the same style! What's wrong?

1. Why can't I merge them?
2. What procedure should I use for copy/paste row to prevent the table from being split?

Your document 3.docx has three tables - with different Styles - Grid Table 3 Accent 1 for the first & last and Grid Table 3 Accent 12 for the second.

I created a new document and copied & pasted your tables from 1.docx and 2.docx into it, without even leaving an empty paragraph between them. Both came across with the Grid Table 3 Accent 1 Style and merged instantly.

I know they had the same Style in 1.docx and 2.docx. Your 3.docx has three tables. Even your screenshots show that the second table hasn't been selected. The second table is the one with the Grid Table 3 Accent 12 Style applied.

Oh, I only saw two tables, now I also see the middle one.

1. What is the proper way to see all the tables, I pressed Ctr+A then I hovered the mouse over the first column, but seems I did it too fast.
2. What procedure should I use for copy/paste a row to prevent the table from being split? (I copied a row from table1 with Ctr+C then selected a row in table2 and pressed Ctr+V (insert as new rows(R) what is the default). Did you do it differently?

There is no particular 'proper' way to see all the tables. Obviously, though, if you click on a table and choose Table Tools|Table Tayout>Select>Table, you can see where the boundary between two adjoining tables is.

The simplest way to avoid the splitting you're seeing is to make sure the source & destination tables have the same Table Style. If you need to append rows from a table having a different Table Style, you can change the Table Style of the pasted table after it's been pasted. It will then merge with the destination table.

No, my whole thread started from the fact that I wanted to copy/paste one row from table1 to table2 and both tables are the same style. However I got table3 with the strange Grid Table 3 Accent 12 Style! So you were able to do this but I missed something! The question is what?

Why would you need to do that when all those formatting commands are available on the ribbon?

Unless you've got an Addin you haven't told us about that's interacting with your table copy/paste activity, the only other thing I can think of that might be playing a role here is your Word installation's copy/paste settings (File|Options|Advanced>Cut, copy and paste), but even that I would only expect to play a role if you're copying between documents and the Table Style definitions conflict. My Word installation's copy/paste settings are all set to Word's defaults.

I've Acrobat Pdfmaker addin and Office Tab installed.
I reinstalled the Office, now works as expected

How can I Cut/Paste two not adjacent rows??

It's difficult because my table is over ten pages long and I need to move quite non-adjacent lines around quite a bit, so it would be really helpful if somebody knew something . . .
