to fit the book? I don't know the steps to do this.

Doing it manually, each table has to be selected and then you visit the Table Properties dialog and specify the width of the table.

Alternatively, you could create and run a macro that does this to every table in the document. The table width can be set as a percentage of the column width but that can be a problem if any tables are indented by a fixed amount.

This happens when I copy an internet page and then use "Paste Special" (HTML) to paste it into Word 2000. What I do is click View and select "Normal". That lets me see just how wide the stuff is that falls off the page.

For images, I pick a right hand corner and then drag it until the image is around 6 inches wide, or narrow enough to fit on the page. I s'pose I could do the same for tables but I can't remember doing so right now.

After resizing everything to what I want, I click View and select "Print Layout" and then fiddle with the image/table sizing.
