Doing it manually, each table has to be selected and then you visit the Table Properties dialog and specify the width of the table.
Alternatively, you could create and run a macro that does this to every table in the document. The table width can be set as a percentage of the column width but that can be a problem if any tables are indented by a fixed amount.

This happens when I copy an internet page and then use "Paste Special" (HTML) to paste it into Word 2000. What I do is click View and select "Normal". That lets me see just how wide the stuff is that falls off the page.
For images, I pick a right hand corner and then drag it until the image is around 6 inches wide, or narrow enough to fit on the page. I s'pose I could do the same for tables but I can't remember doing so right now. After resizing everything to what I want, I click View and select "Print Layout" and then fiddle with the image/table sizing. |
