Hi to the community,
I am working for a company who uses Word templates. Colleagues are complaining about a table at the beginning of the template. See the attached file Were aren't succesful to discard that obsolete field. As far it is a protected field, it is not possible to delete it, or to delete the row, or to delete the table It is an update date, but I can't update it in the file properties. I just want to discard it forever. I tried copy/paste, cut/paste and I don't have the answer. Can you help me ? Thanks in advance Julien |

That is a Content Control and you need to change its properties in order to delete it (specifically the property tagged as Content Control cannot be deleted). To do this you will need to use the Developer Ribbon Tab which might not be visible on your machine.
See About content controls - Microsoft Support and Create a Form Using Word Content Controls

You could use Insert Content Control Add-In to change the settings of the control or delete it.
