Default Word tables with absolute position on page

Hi,

Is there a way to position a series of word tables in absolute positions within the same page (for example, distribute 6 tables each located at a specific position on the page, like the first at 2" from top and 1" from left, the second same top but 5" from left, the following two at 5" from the top just below the first two etc...

Of course, there is a workaround by nesting the tables inside a big table that covers the page, but that is not what want to use.

Right click in a table and choose Table Properties from the context menu.

In the Table Properties dialog set Text Wrapping to Around and click on the Positioning button to display the Table Positioning dialog. Change the settings as required.

Repeat for remaining tables.

Default That solution doesn't work in my case

Hi Italofile,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Unfortunately, the suggestion does not work as I need. If you see the location options while opening the menu you show in your screenshots, nowhere is available the absolute to-page positioning. For shapes, for example, that option is available, but not for tables. For tables, you only can arrange the "absolute" position as a "distance to surrounding text", not relative to the page, as it's the case for shapes.

Thanks and best wishes,

That simply isn't true. You can specify the table's absolute horizontal position relative to the page, margin, or column, and its absolute vertical position relative to the page, margin, or paragraph, as well as whether the table is to move with text. Did you expand any of the dropdowns on the positioning dialog?
